Frequently Asked Questions

If it's your first time seeing us or if massage therapy is new to you, this page should answer a few frequently asked questions about our studio and what to expect when you come in for an appointment.

FAQs

What to Expect

You’re welcome to arrive for your massage in whatever you’re wearing—gym clothes, office attire, etc. When it’s time for your session, your therapist will escort you to the treatment room, discuss any health concerns or specific areas of tension, and work with you to create a personalized treatment plan.

After reviewing the plan, your therapist will step out to give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the massage table, covered by a sheet and blanket. We typically recommend removing clothing down to your underwear—most women choose to remove bras to allow access to the back and shoulders—but you are always encouraged to undress to your own level of comfort.

During the session, your licensed massage therapist will ensure you are properly draped at all times. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered. You should never feel exposed or uncomfortable during your massage.

Before re-entering the room, your therapist will knock to ensure you're settled on the table and covered. They’ll then check in with you about things like table warmth and body positioning before beginning your massage.

Arrival Time

Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time, as our therapists will likely be with other clients or turning over the massage room and will not be ready for you until 15 minutes before your appointment. We also ask that you try to arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow for using the bathroom or going over the treatment plan for the session.

Time for your appointment has been specially arranged for you. If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. We will do our best to provide you with the services you have booked, but we cannot guarantee the full time if you arrive late.  Full payment for your scheduled services will be expected regardless of the actual session length as our therapists are compensated by appointment.

How Do I Pay?

After your appointment, you may pay using card, cash, check or pre-paid gift certificate.

Do You Take Insurance?

Our studio is private pay only, so at this time we do not take insurance although we do process most HSA card payments.

After your Session

It's a great idea to give yourself some additional time after your massage to continue relaxing and to allow your body to fully absorb the benefits of the bodywork.  We recommend staying hydrated after your session and we encourage you to take some extra time to relax, unwind and reset your body before going about the rest of your day.
